A year of challenge and change: NHS Kent and Medway’s annual general meeting 2023-24

26 September 2024

More than 100 people took part in NHS Kent and Medway’s second annual general meeting and marketplace event yesterday.

This year’s theme was transforming healthcare and marketplace displays showcased work to improve urgent, community and primary care.

The meeting was opened by Cedi Frederick, NHS Kent and Medway’s Chair, followed by Chief Executive Paul Bentley, who provided an overview of the integrated care board's past year and discussed the future.

Paul said: “The AGM provides us with the opportunity to review and reflect on our achievements over the past year, while giving you a sense of the challenges we are facing and our future plans.

“I am incredibly proud of the progress and achievements we have made so far but I know we have more to do. With the support of my colleagues and system partners, we will continue working together to achieve even greater, wider ranging positive progress.”

There was also an overview of finance and a focus on out-of-hospital care.

The event, held at the Corn Exchange in Rochester, was livestreamed and included a question and answers section.

Cedi said: “The past year has been a year of change and challenge but our ‘Together, we can’ message remains strong and true.

“A huge thanks to everyone for your continued support of, and contribution to, the NHS.”
