Do you want to work with the NHS to make sure people feel supported to use digital technology?
Do you think information should be securely shared to support people to live healthier lives?
If yes, we want to work with you!
We are looking for 15 volunteers to become Digital Citizens to join our NHS Kent and Medway Digital and Data Involvement Group, to help improve digital technology, and information across NHS and social care services.
Digital Citizens are members of our communities in Kent and Medway who help the NHS understand what is important to local people in relation to digital technology and the sharing of information, and make sure services are what people need.
The Digital and Data Involvement Group has been set up to ensure that the views and needs of our people and communities are at the heart of how we develop digital and data services.
The Digital and Data Involvement Group will
- help make sure that the view of the people and communities of Kent and Medway shape our work in relation to secure sharing of records to improve care
- help shape and improve digital and data related projects; and,
- help NHS Kent and Medway understand and listen to the needs and views of our diverse population, including those who find digital access and services challenging.
We welcome people who are, and are not, using digital services, and can provide individual and group experiences into challenges, barriers, and opportunities with digital health care provision.
We can also provide support to use digital technology to join the involvement group.
We would particularly like to involve carers, disabled people (pan-impairment), older adults, people whose first language is not English, and others who may experience barriers to accessing healthcare.
Involvement group members receive expenses; and, in certain circumstances, recognition payments are offered. Full training and support will also be offered.
Background
NHS Kent and Medway is using more digital technology and information to help join-up our services in a way that will transform people’s experience of health and care services. Our ambition is for our people and communities to be able to:
- use digital technologies, such as NHS App, to support their health and wellbeing;
- have one shared care record so that they can communicate and plan with those involved in their care, using health data which is secure; and,
- benefit from health and care professionals securely sharing data to better plan and deliver services across Kent and Medway that meets the needs of our population.
The Digital and Data Involvement Group has been set up to ensure the views of our communities feed into this work, and that services are designed with the needs of those who use them, and their carers, in mind.
