Two walk-in Covid-19 vaccination clinics are being held for anyone aged 18 and over in Chatham and Gillingham.
The two clinics run by Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust, providing first doses of the Pfizer vaccine, will take place at:
- Victory Academy, Magpie Hall Road, Chatham ME4 5JB. On Saturday, 10 July, from 12noon to 7pm,
- Gillingham Baptist Church, 6 Green Street, Gillingham ME7 5TJ. On Saturday, 17 July, from 12noon to 7pm,
No appointments are necessary and vaccinations will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
Paula Wilkins, Chief Nurse at NHS Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “The people of Kent and Medway are continuing to support the vaccination programme by booking their appointments through the national booking system, or via their GP.
“Delivering localised walk-in clinics helps us to make sure the vaccination is available to all our communities, including those who may not be able to access large vaccination centres or GPs as easily as others."
James Williams, Medway Council’s Director of Public Health, said: “Receiving the vaccine is the best way that we can protect ourselves, and our loved ones, from Covid-19. The vaccine is quick and easy, and I would encourage everyone eligible to make sure they receive both doses. It remains vital that we all continue to follow the government guidelines, even if you’ve been vaccinated.”
Those who receive a vaccination at either walk-in clinic are advised to visit the online national booking service a few days after their first jab to book their second dose.
A vaccination information helpline, 0330 320 4444, has been set up to provide more information on the vaccine and answer any questions people may have. This is provided by Involve Kent, with translation available if needed. You cannot book a vaccine using the helpline.
Anyone aged over 18 can now have their Covid-19 vaccination. You can book an appointment online at nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or by calling 119, or you can pop along to one of our walk-in clinics.
