The Armed Forces Network for Sussex and Kent and Medway has launched a single point of contact, afn.admin@nhs.net and 01273 403693, to support family members and carers of the armed forces community who are serving or have served.
The service, which is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, can provide advice, guidance and support on how to use the NHS, advise on veteran-friendly GP practices in the local area, signpost to social prescribing support and more.

Mike Gilbert, Executive Director for Corporate Affairs and lead for the Armed Forces Network in Kent and Medway said: “As a veteran, I know how incredibly important the work of our armed forces continues to be. Not only in maintaining our security in ever-uncertain times, but also in promoting peace and delivering aid around the world; and working alongside NHS and other blue light services during local and national emergencies, including the pandemic.
“Armed forces week provides a great opportunity to show our gratitude and support to serving and retired members, their families and the armed forces community for their dedication and, far too often, personal sacrifice.
“The week ends with Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 25 June with more than 30 events in London and the south east.”
