GPs in Kent and Medway are urging eligible patients who have not yet been vaccinated to come forward and join thousands who are benefiting from the protection vaccines offer.
Covid-19 vaccinations are available at walk-in clinics until the end of January and vaccinations for flu run until the end of March. People aged over 65, those who are pregnant or who have certain long-term conditions are all eligible. Children aged two and three can have the flu nasal spray at their GP practice.
Kate Langford, Chief Medical Officer at NHS Kent and Medway, said: “Many people who are more likely to get very ill from Covid-19 or flu are putting their health at risk by not taking up a free NHS vaccination.
“This includes pregnant women and those with asthma, COPD, chronic diseases and other medical conditions, which makes them more vulnerable to serious illness from flu and Covid-19.
“Thousands of people across the county have been vaccinated this year but there are still more who are eligible. It’s important to get vaccinated now while you still can.”

Dr Ross Lindsay is the vaccination clinical lead at the Canterbury vaccination site, operating out of the Sea Cadets building in Vauxhall Road. This site is one of several offering both vaccines with no appointment needed.
He said: “Having these vaccines are the best way to protect yourself, and your loved ones, from very unpleasant, and even life-threatening illnesses.
“They are quick and easy and one of the best things you can do to stay healthy – please don’t delay.”
