Pharmacies delivering the vaccine across Kent and Medway

9 February 2021

Seven pharmacies in Kent and Medway have now joined the biggest vaccination programme in the history of the NHS.

The pharmacies are an important part of helping us offer coronavirus jabs to people in the top four priority groups by 15 February, including people aged 70 years old and over and those who are deemed to be clinically extremely vulnerable.

More pharmacies may follow in later stages of the vaccination programme. The seven pharmacies are:

  • Sevenoaks Pharmacy
  • Lawsat Pharmacy, vaccinations at Cliffe Woods Community Centre
  • New Romney Pharmacy
  • Clockwork Pharmacy, Deal
  • Boots Bluewater
  • Boots Chatham
  • Pharmacy2U, Maidstone

Dr Navin Kumta, Ashford GP and Clinical Chair of NHS Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “It’s fantastic that pharmacies are joining the fight against Covid-19 and will play a vital role in delivering the vaccine to those in their community.”

Priscilla Kankam, Deputy Director of Nursing, Quality and Medicines Optimisation, said: “Pharmacies have a big part to play in the success of the vaccination programme as it rolls out across Kent and Medway. They can reach into their communities helping to protect so many people, to vaccinate, advise and care.”

If you are over 70 or in the clinically extremely vulnerable group (you will have received a letter about this if it applies) vaccinations at pharmacy services can be booked through the national Covid-19 vaccine booking service. If you are under 70 and not clinically extremely vulnerable please wait to be contacted about having a vaccine.
