New figures released by NHS England show that 846,748 appointments were offered by general practices in Kent and Medway last month. Of those appointments, 67 per cent were face-to-face or home visits.
The number of appointments has increased by around 168,000 compared to the same period in 2019, where fewer than 700,000 appointments were offered.
The data also shows that more than 45,000 people did not attend their appointments last month.
We would urge anyone who can no longer attend any appointment (be it with their GP practice, a vaccination appointment, or a hospital appointment) to please cancel them. This allows the NHS to use the time to see other patients in need.
