60 and over – book your vaccine now

The national booking service is now available to everyone aged 60 and over. It allows you to book from a range of four large vaccine centres and 11 pharmacies across Kent and Medway. The centres all use the Astra Zeneca vaccine. Book online or call 119.

Frontline social care staff – book your vaccine now

We’re appealing to those frontline social care staff who have not yet had a first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to book now. Please help protect yourself and your clients by getting vaccinated, it’s safe and effective.

You can now use the national booking service online or call 119. You’ll just need to bring work ID to your appointment.

Three more pharmacies open for vaccinations

There are now 11 pharmacy run vaccination service across Kent and Medway. Three new services received their first deliveries of vaccine this week. You can book through the National Booking Service online or call 119.

• Pharmacy2U – Odeon Cinema, St George’s Place, Canterbury
• Field Pharmacy – Jubilee Hall, East Peckham

Helping people with learning disabilities get vaccinated

Everyone on GP learning disability registers will be contacted to get vaccinated. If you’re not sure if you or someone you know is on the learning disability register, you can check with the GP surgery.

There is also a community outreach vaccination service in development which will support local people with learning disabilities, more news on this soon.

Advice on health conditions and Covid-19 vaccination

National charities supporting people with a range of health conditions have teamed up with the NHS to provide condition specific advice about the Covid-19 vaccine. Second doses

Evidence is showing that the first dose provides very good levels of protection; but it's still important to boost your protection further with the second dose. People are being offered the second dose around 12 weeks after the first; which means increasing numbers of people will be returning for their booster in the coming weeks.

Please do keep appointments that are already scheduled and accept the offer when you are contacted for the booster. Second doses will be given by the same service which gave the first dose.
