Congratulations to our Healthwatch recognition award winners

Incredible people and projects that improve the lives of communities across Kent and Medway were recognised at last week's Kent and Medway Healthwatch awards.

Attendees, including the leaders of both Medway and Kent County Council, local NHS trust teams, NHS Kent and Medway and community and voluntary groups joined in the celebrations at Ashford International Hotel last Wednesday.

Here is a list of those who have won an award for NHS Kent and Medway and health and care partnerships:

Recognition in excellence in involving people in commissioning and delivery of services

  • NHS Kent and Medway Young People’s Mental Health Team – young adults mental health support videos.
  • Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley Health and Care Partnership - developing a systematic and collaborative approach to reducing health inequalities, in collaboration with Dartford Borough Council, Gravesham Borough Council, Sevenoaks District Council and the Safer Communities Alliance.

Recognition for excellence in enabling local people to monitor standards and how to make improvements

  • NHS Kent and Medway Mental Health Team – Kent and Medway Safe Havens.
  • Tunbridge Wells PCN - digital front door project.

Recognition for excellence in integrated working at a local level

  • NHS Kent and Medway Safety and Learning Team and Quality Team – emergency department experience project.
  • Total Health Excellence East and West Kent PCNs integrated neighbourhood teams - a service to support local people within their community and reducing hospital visits.

Recognition for excellence in inspiring individuals

  • Del Herridge (Children and young people’s mental and physical health data analytics manager).

Recognition for excellence in consultation and engagement

  • The Marsh PCN integrated neighbourhood team - breast screening.

Recognition for inspiring individuals

  • Dr Saad Niazi (Lead children and young people's GP for MDT pilot (Medway Peninsula PCN).

East Kent Health and Care Partnership (HCP)

Recognition for excellence in collaboration

  • Single Point of Access (SPOA) or urgent care coordination centre, in collaboration with East Kent Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust, Thanet Health CIC -ART and South East Coast Ambulance Service.
