More than 1million appointments were offered by general practices in Kent and Medway in October.
The figures, released by NHS England, show 66 per cent of these appointments were face-to-face or home visits. The data also shows more than 57,000 people did not attend their appointments.
So far this year, more than 9million appointments have been offered by Kent and Medway practices. During the same period in 2022, 8.4million appointments were offered to patients and 7.6million to the same point in 2021.
Most people who are unable to attend their appointment cancel them to allow other people in need to use them. We would urge anyone who can no longer attend any appointment (be it with their GP practice, a vaccination appointment, or a hospital appointment) to please let their practice know.
