The Shared Health and Care Analytics Board is the senior governance group for the analyst community across Kent and Medway.
Its remit is to work together to link data across the region so the local NHS and councils can plan existing services for patients and conduct research to design new services.
The group oversees a series of workstreams to cover information governance, research, technology infrastructure, analysis and artificial intelligence.
The benefits of linked data have been widely reported, especially during the Covid pandemic where, for example, by linking data about ethnicity and vaccine uptake the NHS was able to design specific programmes to target those most at risk.
The SHCAB has been running for six years and reports into the new formed Data and Digital Board for Kent and Medway.
