How accessible this website is

WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard - there is no keyboard function when the keyboard selects the button 'Got it!' within the cookie banner.

WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow - tt 400% zoom, once 'Show accessibility tools' has been expanded, the button 'Hide accessibility tools' is no longer available for users.

WCAG 1.4.5 Images of Text - there are images of text within the carousel at the top of the webpage.

WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) - elements within the carousel at the top of the webpage do not have sufficient colour contrast. This includes the image of text 'Have your say'.

WCAG 1.4.13 Content on Hover or Focus - when hovering over the navigation bar dropdown menus, there is no mechanism to dismiss the additional content triggered without moving pointer hover or keyboard focus.

WCAG 2.4.3 Focus Order - at 200% zoom and more, once the hamburger menu has been expanded, the keyboard tabs through the main content rather than into the menu options.

WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (minimum) - the 'Got it!' button within the cookie banner does not have sufficient colour contrast.

WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value there are multiple hidden links within the navigational menu, including 'About us, 'Get involved', 'News and Events' and 'Your health'.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We are currently undergoing a website reprocurement which will see a full overhaul of this website. Once completed, this website will be fully complaint with WCAG 2.2 and we are shceduing completion for August 2025. This statement was prepared on 10 Janaury 2025. It was last reviewed on 10 January 2025.
This website was last tested on 16 September 2024. The test was carried out by NHS Kent and Medway and our website development supplier.
NHS Kent and Medway conducted a manual audit based on the WCAG 2.2 requirements alongside the results of the Government Digital Services report.
Our website builders conducted a functional audit against the WCAG 2.2 requirements.
